What is downloaded, from where, and what is never sent
  • Downloaded once, then stored in this browser: the PDF reader and writer libraries; the OCR engine and English language data, fetched only the first time you open a scanned PDF; and, when the box above is ticked, the name-detection model and its runtime. Every one of these is served from this site, the same address you are on now. No third-party server is contacted. They are public, open-source components (pdf.js, pdf-lib, tesseract.js, Transformers.js and the bert-base-NER model), and the requests carry no information about you or your documents.
  • Never sent anywhere: your text, your PDFs, the detected items, your redactions, the exported files and the audit log. They exist only in this tab and in this browser's storage on this computer.
  • Check for yourself: press F12, open the Network tab, then paste text or upload a PDF. Once the components above are stored, you will see no requests at all. You can also switch the internet off and keep working.
  • Remove everything: clear this site's data in your browser settings. The app will simply download the components again next time.

4. Copy or download the anonymised text.
